ROLE
UX + Design Direction
YEAR
2020–2023
TEAM
I led a team of three UI/UX designers who had worked with me on the Hyundai and Mazda apps, so we already knew the problems these tools needed to solve. We worked with Station’s PM and engineering teams.
MY ROLE
I defined the architecture and feature list for each product and how the four connect to each other, specified how each feature should behave, and worked with engineering to understand how content is stored on the back end so the designs matched how the system actually works.
CONDUCTOR · OMNICHANNEL NOTIFICATION PLATFORM
Lets OEM marketing and service teams send targeted push, email, SMS and in-app messages triggered by app activity, vehicle data or location, with an approval step before anything goes out. On the Mazda global app, Conductor ran marketing automation, including the maintenance reminders that brought owners back to book service.
RELAY · APP ANALYTICS AND KPI DASHBOARD
Gives product and operations teams one dashboard for app usage, funnels, feature adoption and system health, so they can see where users drop off and catch problems early. Used for the Mazda global app’s analytics reports.
JUNCTION · VISUAL STRINGS AND CONTENT MANAGEMENT
Lets localization and marketing teams manage app text, images and media in many languages. A string changed in Junction syncs to the cloud and updates the live app, with no app store release. Each string is tied to a screenshot, so translators review copy in context and catch truncation and layout problems before launch. My team used it to manage strings for the Mazda global app’s single UI framework across 25+ languages.
CROSSING · CHATBOT ENGINE
Lets OEMs add a support chatbot to their apps and websites, with guided conversations, approved answers and handoff to a live agent.
